Lounge Lizard Politics

As the Nation's economy unravels, the president announced today he has chosen a new post racial "K team*" to inject a new message into the Washington echo chamber.  Starting with some popular themes of the Carter Administration, the president has remixed the tenents to add a soulful trickle up supply-side beat.  He shocked some Washington Press Corps veterans when he abruptly appeared in the briefing room, and thought while in  keeping with his new relaxed dress code of sans coat and tie, the patterned polyester shirt with oversized collar  unbuttoned to the breast bone had some reeling.  "This is not politics as usual" he said. Some members of liberal press questioned,  isn't this turning your whole recovery package on it's head?. "No, not at all.  This isn't some kind of blue dog break dance.  I think the mission of the K team is clear, to send a message that reverberates with Americans.  I said throughout my campaign, there's not different kinds of America, there is just one United States of America. This message is targeted to the top 5% of the population.  Were not going to leave people out of the picture just because they have a lot of money.  I think the chorus speaks directly to them.  If they miss it today, or don't get it right away, they can just press the replay button. Were posting it on uTube.    YouTube - "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough"

Reactions were mixed:
CNBC's Larry Kudlow,  "what took him so long?  Can we please start drilling now!"

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi;   I gave it a 95, the lyrics of course, but it's so easy to dance to

Senator Lindsey Graham; " this is nothing more than Lounge Lizard Politics. It's been tried before
it doesn't work."

George Will of NBC's Meet the Press; "In my day we called it the hand jive."

While returning from an overnight flight to California, to speak to the Governor on ways he can stop speaking so strangely,   White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs tried to answer questions. " Look, no matter how many ways you ask it, I'm not going to get out in front of the President on this one, and no I don't know what the hand jive is."
